Isaiah 45:6
That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.

Good week...

So this week was pretty good I guess. So Naoko-san had a baptismal
interview scheduled, but it turns out that she's not going to be able
to get baptized just yet, but she talked to her parents about church
and we consider that a huge step forward. Not many people tell their
parents that they are meeting with missionaries and Naoko-san seems to
be like one of the only people that has done it...at least when I've
been here, so her parents got a little against it, but it was a huge
step forward. But I'm sure that she's going to get baptized soon, and
the Sasahara family! I love them so much! They are so cool. This week
we met with a Bro. Ogard, and he took us out to lunch! It was a super
good Katsudon place, and it was way good! Delicious. This week we had
a split with Tsuruoka too, so it wasn't a very productive week, cause
we had to go far away, but it was good. Bigger choro and Brown choro
are doing a really good job. We got to see a matsuri in Tsuruoka too.
Pretty great! People were dancing in the streets and passing out free
Sake (alcohol) to everyone in the streets. Then we came home and then
on Sunday we had a good Sacrament meeting where we got to see one of
the Sisters on TV. She has no feeling in her hands so she has had to
go her whole life with no-hands and she cuts vegetables with her feet
and eats with her feet and writes with her feet...pretty awesome, and
awe-inspiring, but we watched that as a ward and then we did a Preach
My Gospel class for the YSA's that was way good. I hope they all go
out on missions. Another thing that made me super happy, was that in
Kamisugi I did a PMG class for all the YSA's and recently in the new
Liahona there was 3 new missionaries from Kamisugi ward! That is
crazy! I think that is probably the most from 1 ward that Sendai has
ever seen. Crazy, but that made me super happy! Anyways that was all
for this week. Until next week! Bye-bye!

Talent Show Miracle

So last monday we celebrated one of the Young Single Adults
Birthdays...we blew up a bunch of balloons and put candy and a puzzle
in the balloons and we went to her house...4 elders, and we sang happy
birthday to her. She was way grateful, so that was good. Then on
Tuesday we went to Naoko-san's house to do a lesson with the Takahashi
Couple and we talked to her about Faith...Alma ch. 32, and we pretty
much read the whole thing and talked about it. Way powerful lesson I
thought. Then the Takahashi couple took us to the Sasahara family's
home and we did a lesson on the Plan of Salvation and then a lesson on
Baptism. It was pretty great. We did the whole Salt in Water and use
soap to push away the salt......yeah, I know you don't understand. At
any rate, it was way good lesson. On Wednesday we had English Class
and we went in front of the train station and played the guitar while
we passed out English class fliers. It was a pretty good day. I love
passing out fliers with the guitar, because it makes passing out
fliers way more fun, and the people are actually willing to take them,
because of the music. We had a new guy come to English Class too, so
that was pretty good. Then on Thursday we had a lesson with
Watanabe-san and we talked about the Temple and how she needs to go
their to help her family with salvation and stuff like that. Pretty
good lesson, we had to push our way through it. Then we had a lesson
with Yuma-kun who brought a friend along with him. Way awesome, I
think his friend might be interested in hearing the word, so it was a
good day. On Friday we went to the Sasahara's again to teach the
little ones english and it was pretty fun. I hope they can get
baptized soon. Later that night we taught Yuma-kun, because the day
before he brought his friend so we couldn't really do a lesson
strictly for Yuma-kun, but we talked about how he can get his parents
to know more about the church, so he is going to try to get them to
know about Eikaiwa. We'll see how it goes...he is a long time
investigator and his only problem is that he can't tell his parents
that he is coming to church, so we'll see how that goes. Then on
Saturday we had the coolest Talent Show EVER! We had 11 investigators
show up to it, so that was way good! I did the MC and the Elders at
the very beginning of the show did a super mario skit, I played the
piano and Okada choro was Mario, Sanders choro was Luigi, and Tanaka
choro was Peach/Bowser...way funny. Oh and before that Sanders choro
acted out Dragonball Z for everyone...super funny. I wish I had it all
on tape because it was hilarious! But that was by far the best event
that I've ever been too. Then on Sunday we did the Preach My Gospel
class for the Young ones. And we taught them Chapter 8, which is by
far the coolest chapter in PMG. You may think I'm crazy, but ch8 is
one of the most important, so we did a class on that. Then Today we
just got back from a lesson with Naoko-san and we did it at the Oishi
Family's home, it was a pretty good lesson. I hope she gets baptized!
She might be getting baptized on the 9th so I might be able to see it!
It might ruin all of our plans, but a Baptism would be nice to see.
Anyways see you in a few! Bye-bye!~

YSA activity was awesome!

So this week on Monday we went to the Sasahara's house to do a Family
Home Evening, and we set a baptismal date with them, so that was such
a miracle. We set it for the 2nd of June, so hopefully they make it!
I'm excited for them. They said they would do their best to get an
answer from God. The next day we went to Watanabe shimais house and we
did a lesson on the Sabbath Day, and it's always way tiring to go to
her house because she tells us the same stories over and over and over
again, but I guess that's just how old people work. That is one thing
I've noticed is that living by yourself must not be very fun at all.
You have no one to talk to, so that's why when other people come over
you spill out everything and talk forever. It's the terrible circle we
must all go through...can't wait...Anyways then after Watanabe-san's
we visited another member who lives by herself and she is pretty old,
so we went to help her pull her weeds, and it was a good expirience.
After that we went with the Sasahara's to the Festival in Yamagata. It
was pretty much a bunch of tiny stores lined up on the street selling
stuff, but it was fun. We got to walk around with them and see how
they were doing. On Wednesday we had Eikaiwa in the morning and then
had a lesson with Cho-san which was ma-ma...he was already baptized in
a different church so he doesn't think that the Priesthood makes any
difference. Then we did a way cool Eikaiwa for the night class.
Sanders choro and Okada choro did a skit thing and we played a fun
game with cloths afterwards. Pretty fun. On Thursday we had weekly
planning and we made a funny picture for the Sasahara's and we made a
little puzzle and a game and brought it to their house, secretly put
the game in their mailbox and secretly put the treasure in the
backyard, then went to go visit Uchiumi-san, but she wasn't home so we
went back home for the day. And that way it for Thursday...for Friday
we went into Sendai because another 70 came to visit. Yamashita couple
came and gave a long presentation on how to work with members pretty
much. So that was fun. It's great to see all the missionaries and to
know that everyone is working hard. On Saturday we went on one of the
main roads and did guitar dendo again...passed out English class
fliers and Sanders choro played the guitar, so that was fun, and then
we had a lesson with Naoko-san and we set another day for her baptism,
we set it for the 9th so I hope that one goes down too. If it so
happens that she does get baptized on the 9th, then I might have to
change my plans to come and see it. But after the lesson we had a YSA
activity and in total we had 17 people come, and 5 of them were
non-members, so that was way good for us. 5 non-members at a YSA party
is way awesome right! We just ate soup and played ping-pong, but it
was way fun. Then on Sunday Watanabe-san called us and told us that
she didnt want to be a part of this church anymore because there was
this lady that she let into her home that tried to steal her money and
she hit her in the face, but then when she came to church she lied to
us and told us that she didn't hit her, so later that night she called
us and told us that because she lied to us and she hit someone that
she didn't think she could be part of the church, but we talked to her
about it and it ended up alright. Then it was Mother's Day in America
today so I got to talk to my family and that was my week! Have a good
next week!

Watanabe-san Baptism

So this week was pretty good. We had Watanabe-san's Baptism and it
went really well! But that was on Saturday, so I'll get to that in a
bit. On Monday we went to a place called Yamadera and it was way cool.
It's pretty much a huge Shrine that you have to walk up tons of stairs
to get to and the view on top is beautiful! The Sakura trees were in
full bloom so it was the best time to go up. Then on Tuesday we went
to do Volunteer in a place called Rikuzentakada, and it was a good
time...in all respective terms. We had our friend Naoko-san come with
us. Then on Wednesday we had Eikaiwa in the morning and then the
Takahashi's took us out to eat Yakiniku...delicious. I love Yakiniku.
Then we had a lesson with Akira-san before the night Eikaiwa and then
during the night Eikaiwa we had Okada choro do his break dance and
then Sanders choro play his guitar, so it was really good. We also had
Sae come to Eikaiwa too! She was coming to Eikaiwa about 3 months ago
and so since it was a holiday she came back home and decided to come
to Eikaiwa. Then on Thursday we had interviews with President and
pretty much just prepared for the Baptism. We had a lesson with
Watanabe-san and we went over the baptism procedure and who is going
to do what for the program. Friday we did something way fun! We went
to the Eki and Sanders choro brought his guitar and he played guitar
while I sang songs and the other Elders passed out English Class
flyers. It was so effective and way fun! Hopefully people come now.
Then on Saturday we had the Baptism. It was pretty spiritual and I
think everyone had a good time. We had a about 3 investigators there
so it was a huge success. We made Watanabe-san a little picture album
and she was so grateful! She also bought all the Elders ties to wear.
Then on Sunday Okada choro did the Confirmation and it was pretty
weird cause he lost all his energy after he did the confirmation. But
it all went well. Watanabe-san bore her testimony too so it was a
really good meeting. Then today we are just trying to get all the
paperwork and stuff in, so we've been pretty busy today, but today we
are going to meet with the Sasahara family in a few hours so I hope it
goes well. Well hope everyone has a great week! Love ya!
