Isaiah 45:6
That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.

People asking to be baptized? Crazy!

So this week was a pretty good week. Last Monday Okada choro and me
went to the mall to find him a suit. Japanese suits are awesome, by
the way...he needed one because he only has 1, we also taught the
Sasahara's and taught them about reading the Book of Mormon again, but
this time we used the childrens Book of Mormon Stories book to teach
them. Then on Tuesday we had a huge Typhoon that came through Japan
from the cold north winds, and for about 2 days it snowed a ton! And
the wind was blowing roofs off the houses. If you think Japan can't be
nature tourtured enough...think again! We had to go to the dentist for
Okada choro because his tooth fell out of his mouth, so that day was
pretty fun, we had the wind against us the whole 2 days. Then on
Wednesday we went to this one person named Haruka-san's house and she
and her husband met the missionaries only a few months ago, but we
went there and talked to them about church and about English Class. It
was a pretty good meeting...later that night we had English Class and
3 new people showed up so that was really good! On Thursday we had a
district meeting scheduled in Tsuruoka, but when we went to the bus
stop to see if we had a bus, we found out that they apparently changed
the bus schedules and so we were stuck, but we gave the Senior Couples
in Yonezawa a call and they came up and picked us up. Later that night
we had a lesson with Naoko-san, and we talked to her about the
Gospel...literally...and then gave her a copy of Preach My Gospel and
told her to read it! Kind of funny, but an investigator wanting to
read Preach My Gospel...she is the one that is waiting for an answer
from God. She says if she gets an answer then she will be baptized.
Then later that night we made cookies for our Ward Mission Leader who
had some health problem earlier in the week that made him go to the
hospital. On Friday we went up to Tendo and met with Watanabe-san and
talked to her about being baptized. She started to break down and told
us that she wants to be an official member of the church, and she
insisted that we tell her all the requirements of being a member right
then! So we did a baptism interview right on the spot with her and the
only thing she has a problem with is Tabacco...after she is over that,
then she will be baptized. So we set a date for her and now she is
working towards it. Crazy miracles, right? Not many people strait up
say that they want to be a member of the church, and demand to hear
the requirements...I thought it was cool. Then on Saturday and Sunday
we got to watch General Conference! Awesome, right? It was pretty much
all about building families up, bragging about the church...(not
really, but kind of...haha) and pretty much telling the men that they
needed to shape up. At least that's what I got out of it. Building
families is the most important thing we can do on the earth. I loved
the Afternoon Session with Elder Holland...the closing line of his
talk was way bold and powerful. This church is pretty awesome isn't
it. Hearing the talks made me realize just how crazy awesome this
church is. I'm way stoked to be a member!
